Rooted in the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, my furniture work is centered around salvaged driftwood, weathered timber, reclaimed natural materials, and sculptural organic form.
At The Wright Carver, each piece is individually designed around the natural movement and character already present within the material — resulting in furniture that feels collected from the coastline, forest, and mountains rather than manufactured in a shop.
No two pieces are ever repeated.
Pacific Northwest Inspired Furniture
The Pacific Northwest produces some of the most visually striking natural materials in the country. Salt-worn driftwood, old-growth textures, twisted roots, weathered cedar, reclaimed fir, and naturally aged timber all carry a distinct sense of place and history.
These elements become the foundation for one-of-a-kind rustic furniture pieces designed to feel organic, grounded, and timeless.
Projects may include:
– Driftwood coffee tables
– Sculptural console tables
– Rustic benches
– Entryway pieces
– Live edge dining tables
– Bed frames & headboards
– Mantels
– Outdoor seating
– Accent pieces & statement furniture
– Lodge & cabin furnishings
Each piece is shaped by the material itself — allowing natural curves, erosion patterns, knots, grain movement, and weathering to guide the final composition.
Salvaged Natural Materials
Much of the material used throughout my work is responsibly salvaged from the Pacific Northwest and surrounding coastal environments.
Materials may include:
– Coastal driftwood
– Reclaimed cedar
– Weathered Douglas fir
– Burl wood
– Root systems
– Naturally aged logs
– Salvaged slabs
– Stone & natural accents
– Antler and organic mixed materials
Rather than hiding imperfections, I intentionally preserve the cracks, textures, checking, and weathering that give each piece authenticity and presence.
Sculptural Rustic Design
My approach blends rustic furniture building with sculptural design principles.
Some pieces remain simple and minimal, while others become more expressive and free-flowing — incorporating intertwined forms, natural asymmetry, and movement inspired by water, wind, coastline erosion, and forest growth.
The goal is not simply to build furniture, but to create pieces that feel alive within a space.
Designed for Natural Spaces
This style of furniture pairs especially well with:
– Mountain homes
– Waterfront properties
– Cabins & lodges
– Modern rustic interiors
– Coastal homes
– Retreat spaces
– Outdoor living environments
– Boutique hospitality spaces
Whether the piece is intended as a functional centerpiece or a sculptural accent, the focus remains the same: natural material, honest craftsmanship, and one-of-a-kind character.
Custom Furniture Commissions
I create custom furniture pieces for clients throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Many projects begin with a conversation around a unique piece of wood, a specific environment, or a general feeling the client wants the work to evoke.
If you are interested in a custom piece, feel free to reach out with:
– Dimensions or intended use
– Inspiration photos
– Style direction
– Existing materials or wood
– Location & delivery considerations
Every project is approached individually, with no templates or mass-produced repetition.
